Engineering Manager for IAM

About the role

Canonical is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the development of identity and access management solutions across its product suite, including Ubuntu One SSO, Juju, LXD, and MAAS. The role involves managing a high-performing team, defining technical vision, and collaborating with internal and upstream open source communities to deliver secure, scalable software. The manager will oversee the full software development lifecycle, from design and coding to troubleshooting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision for IAM products in collaboration with product management
• Manage the team backlog and oversee project execution
• Review code and provide technical guidance to team members
• Design and implement complex, distributed systems
• Write high-quality code, tests, and documentation
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Participate in open source community events, webinars, and conferences
