Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience

About the role

The Developer Experience team at Thumbtack is responsible for enhancing the productivity of approximately 250 engineers. This role involves building and evolving AI-powered developer workflows, cloud development environments, and internal platforms to support both human developers and AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Build platforms for agentic developer workflows including tools, skills, plugins, and MCP servers.
• Design and build product surfaces such as self-service workflows in the Backstage developer portal, developer CLI, and IDE integrations.
• Own and evolve the Cloud Development Environment platform for human and AI agent use.
• Improve build systems, CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and observability for the engineering organization.
• Prototype and evaluate new AI developer tools to determine adoption and scaling strategies.

Qualifications
