About the role

Project Q is seeking a Staff/Senior Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of their Hydris orchestration engine. You will design and build systems that integrate heterogeneous real-world sensors and mission systems into a coherent tactical IoT backbone. This role focuses on distributed systems, protocol architecture, and data modeling for edge hardware in bandwidth-constrained environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build core engine systems using Go.
  • Evolve schemas and API designs for sensor and mission system integration.
  • Architect peer-to-peer mesh and federation layers for disconnected environments.
  • Set technical standards for testing, protocol versioning, and API maintenance.
  • Make build-versus-integrate decisions and mentor the team on architectural trade-offs.
