AI Harness Engineer

About the role

The AI Harness Engineer will build systems and integrations that connect users with local AI capabilities. This role focuses on the intersection of AI tooling, agent infrastructure, and peer-to-peer technology to create scalable experiences for AI assistants. You will develop reusable modules and reliable systems capable of operating in non-deterministic environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver new features and bug fixes with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Design and develop reusable tools, modules, and integrations for various AI model types.
• Build and maintain AI agent harnesses, including tool calling, agent loops, and context management.
• Develop evaluation frameworks and testing infrastructure for AI systems with non-deterministic behavior.
• Implement and evolve peer-to-peer technology to support local AI and distributed use cases.
• Maintain a high-quality codebase through consistent standards, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Design systems that reliably handle network partitions, model errors, and timeouts.
• Develop and maintain reusable npm modules and shared software components.
