Biosensor Research Scientist

About the role

Level Zero Health is seeking a Biosensor Research Scientist to join their team in developing next-generation electrochemical biosensor technology for endocrine biomarker monitoring. The role involves designing, prototyping, and optimizing biosensor systems using aptamers and advanced surface chemistry. The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment to translate bio-element interactions into clinical-grade data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and optimize electrochemical biosensor systems, focusing on small molecule analytes and aptamer-based recognition.
• Apply surface chemistry and electrode modification strategies to improve sensitivity, selectivity, stability, and biosensor performance in complex biological samples.
• Translate bio-element–target interactions into measurable and reproducible sensor outputs through novel assay design.
• Apply a range of electrochemical methods to characterize and evaluate biosensor function.
• Apply data-driven approaches including Python-based analysis and Design of Experiments to streamline workflows.
• Troubleshoot technical and conceptual challenges systematically and propose innovative solutions to improve performance.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and ensure experimental reproducibility and compliance with quality standards.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to advance biosensor prototypes from concept to application.
