VP Engineering Enterprise

About the role

Reporting to the CTO, you will lead the Enterprise and Freelance Management System engineering organization across London, Paris, and Lyon. You will manage engineering managers and staff engineers to position Malt as the global system of record for enterprise freelance workforces. Working alongside Product and Design, you will turn strategic commercial ambition into a scalable platform and world-class engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing Enterprise engineering organisation, structuring teams while mentoring Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers.
• Co-own the Enterprise & FMS vision with Product and Design, driving outcomes like faster time-to-deploy, higher platform adoption, and international expansion.
• Architect and scale an API-first integrations platform, enabling seamless connections with procurement, P2P, VMS, ERP, and HRIS systems alongside agent-to-agent explorations.
• Embed compliance by design across all markets, building worker classification safeguards, secure vaults, and custom contract capabilities directly into the product.
• Act as the executive engineering voice in client face-offs, joining strategic sales deals, security reviews, and C-level conversations with CTOs, CIOs, and Procurement leaders.
• Modernize back-office tools and operational workflows using AI and automation to lower our cost-to-serve and empower internal teams.
• Raise the bar on engineering excellence, ensuring enterprise-grade reliability, security, delivery performance, and championing an AI-native engineering culture.
