About the role
This role involves designing board-level analog and mixed-signal circuits for optical computing systems, managing the process from specification through to production. You will collaborate with photonics and system teams to translate requirements into analog architectures while ensuring performance across noise, bandwidth, and linearity constraints. The position requires hands-on lab work, including characterisation and correlation with simulation models.
Responsibilities
- Design board-level analog and mixed-signal circuits including photodiode front ends, TIAs, and driver stages.
- Translate photonic system requirements into analog specifications and architectures.
- Design low-noise power delivery, precision voltage references, and grounding schemes.
- Design control loops for photonic components such as TEC and temperature control.
- Run circuit simulation and analysis to confirm designs meet performance requirements.
- Provide placement, routing, and grounding guidance to layout engineers.
- Lead lab bring-up and characterisation of analog circuits and correlate results with simulation.
