Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Ledger is seeking a Senior Scala Backend Engineer to join the Cloud Wallet team, which builds and operates backend services for blockchain account management, transaction processing, and data aggregation. The role involves designing and maintaining scalable services that power Ledger wallets and enterprise custody platforms. You will work in a collaborative, AI-native environment focused on functional programming and robust system architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate Scala services connecting Ledger wallets to blockchain backends.
• Lead end-to-end blockchain integrations across account-based, UTXO, and privacy-preserving chains.
• Manage production quality through SLIs, SLOs, observability, and distributed tracing.
• Participate in incident response and firefighting rotations.
• Define service contracts and collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture and design.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the team's AI-native development tooling.
