Director, Systems Software

About the role

The Director, Systems Software will lead a team of software engineers to develop and manage the software stack powering quantum computers. This role involves defining the software architecture, managing development roadmaps, and establishing robust processes for devops, releases, and support. You will work closely with quantum scientists to ensure the software effectively controls and monitors quantum systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the software team and collaborate with technical teams to build and maintain long-term project roadmaps.
• Capture and prioritize feature requests from internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage the software team's backlog and provide clear progress updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure team effectiveness, quality of output, and support the professional development and wellbeing of team members.
• Define and evolve internal team processes and devops practices as the software stack matures.
