Forward Deployed AI Engineer Energy

About the role

KnowWay GmbH develops AI agents for critical infrastructure sectors including energy, telecommunications, and the public sector. As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you will manage use cases from discovery to go-live by working directly with energy utility clients to translate their processes into productive AI solutions. You will combine GenAI engineering with consulting to build reliable, compliant, and scalable AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workshops and expert interviews to understand complex processes and implicit knowledge
• Translate requirements into agent blueprints and technical solutions
• Develop AI agents using LLMs, RAG, tool use, and agent orchestration
• Prepare documents, data, and knowledge for retrieval and agent use
• Develop functional prototypes and iterate with users
• Build evaluation frameworks including golden questions, test sets, and regression tests
• Analyze feedback and continuously improve agent performance
• Communicate technical possibilities and limitations to clients
