Power Markets Analyst

About the role

The Power/Flexibility Markets Analyst leads the commercial development, negotiation, and optimization of Battery Energy Storage System projects, including standalone storage and co-located solar-plus-storage assets. The role focuses on identifying the best route-to-market, forecasting revenue schemes, and negotiating offtake contracts to maximize project value. You will contribute to renewable energy projects across Europe by leveraging your market and technical understanding of electricity configurations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of electricity markets including Day-Ahead, Intraday, Ancillary Services, Balancing, and Capacity Markets.
• Monitor regulatory and market developments to evaluate their impact on BESS and solar project viability.
• Collect, analyze, and develop electricity price forecasts and revenue projections for storage and hybrid projects.
• Select and negotiate optimal commercial structures such as merchant, tolling, and PPA models to maximize project value.
• Originate, negotiate, and close Tolling Agreements and Power Purchase Agreements with offtakers and utilities.
• Support the preparation of business cases, investment decisions, financial models, and technical/commercial due diligence.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the BESS ecosystem including traders, aggregators, and grid operators.
• Evaluate and optimize technical system configurations from a commercial perspective to maximize project value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Energy Economics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, or related discipline
