About the role

Contabo Group is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to manage and scale their cloud infrastructure platform. You will take ownership of the network backbone, lead the build-out of a new AI data center, and maintain existing infrastructure through design, operation, and security hardening. This role involves working within a self-organizing, agile team to bridge the gap between NetOps and Platform Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate complex network, server, and security systems
  • Commission and maintain Leaf-Spine architecture using Arista EOS, BGP EVPN, and VXLAN
  • Harden network security through the use of scrubbers, firewalls, ACLs, and NAC
  • Monitor network traffic and infrastructure performance while reporting key metrics to management
  • Coordinate with external service providers and remote hands globally
  • Maintain network documentation including diagrams, runbooks, and change logs
  • Collaborate with Platform Engineering on Kubernetes node network configuration, Cilium BGP peering, and IPAM
