About the role
As a Senior Data Center Hardware Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority for complex hardware interventions across our data center sites. You will own end-to-end operations including multi-node production failures, full-rack deployments of GPU-dense systems, and vendor escalations. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on technical leadership, mentorship, and ensuring the reliability of our compute infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex interventions including full rack builds, GPU-dense platform deployment, and post-restart diagnosis.
- Manage hardware vendors by coordinating repairs, part replacements, and driving proactive fixes based on failure trends.
- Perform deep diagnostics across compute, storage, interconnect, and cooling systems using BMC/IPMI consoles and log analysis.
- Execute structured bring-up and validation of new racks and platforms in partnership with infrastructure teams.
- Mentor L1-L3 engineers, develop SOPs and training materials, and build automation tools to improve MTTR.
- Partner with facilities teams on power and cooling interfaces while enforcing strict safety and audit-ready change discipline.
- Manage spares strategy and track fleet failure trends to proactively address potential incidents.
