About the role

The Exploration Company is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer to lead the testing and analysis of innovative propulsion systems for their modular and reusable space orbital vehicle, Nyx. The role involves preparing and executing engine and component-level tests, managing test operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware performance and safety. This position is critical to advancing the company's mission of democratizing space transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute tests at the engine and component level to evaluate hardware performance.
  • Develop test plans, objectives, and schedules while leading daily test operations and generating reports.
  • Lead risk assessment analyses and define mitigation actions to ensure personnel and hardware safety.
  • Interpret P&IDs and generate test sequences while balancing test needs and bench limits.
  • Collaborate with development, AIT, and external teams to support test operations.
  • Process test data to guide campaign development and define improved test procedures.
