About the role
Swarmaero is seeking a Perception and Sensor Fusion Engineer to develop algorithms that provide a large-scale drone swarm with an accurate, shared picture of the battlespace. This role focuses on detection, tracking, and estimation, requiring the candidate to implement these systems on resource-constrained autonomous vehicles. The successful candidate will work on real-time inference and see their algorithms deployed on actual flight systems.
Responsibilities
- Train, tune, and test automatic target recognition and track management systems using neural networks.
- Develop multi-sensor fusion and state estimation algorithms such as Kalman filters and particle filters for onboard vehicle use.
- Design distributed fusion approaches to combine tracks across the swarm into a coherent picture.
- Characterize algorithm performance against real-world flight data and simulation.
- Optimize models and estimators for real-time inference on edge compute.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Travel up to 25% of the time for onsite test and integration events.
