Principal AI Engineer

About the role

The Principal AI Engineer will serve as the technical lead for AI across design, simulation, and manufacturing, solving complex industrial problems that have previously been considered unsolvable. This role involves setting technical direction, shaping client engagements, and mentoring engineers while ensuring AI solutions are robust, scalable, and commercially viable. You will bridge the gap between customer needs and technical implementation, working closely with engineering and R&D leaders.

Responsibilities

• Setting the technical direction for our industrial AI portfolio across design, simulation and manufacturing, and deciding which approach a problem actually deserves
• Taking engineering problems that arrive badly defined and turning them into something that can be solved
• Carrying the specialist authority in client projects, making the calls that decide whether a prototype becomes a system people rely on
• Shaping new engagements with engineering and R&D leaders, from the first workshop to the signed proposal
• Leaving behind reference architectures, evaluation methods and accelerators that the whole practice can build on
• Growing the depth of the engineers around you through coaching, standards and hands-on reviews

Qualifications
