Backend Engineer

About the role

Catawiki is a marketplace for special objects, auctioning over 100,000 items weekly. As a Backend Engineer, you will join an autonomous, cross-functional team to build and maintain scalable microservices that support our demand, supply, or fulfilment verticals. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of your services, focusing on delivering high-quality, resilient product innovations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable microservices and features.
• Take end-to-end ownership of service quality, resilience, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product designers, product owners, and other engineers to deliver innovations.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and advocate for best practices.
• Fix bugs and refactor code to ensure product reliability.
• Participate in Technical Week to experiment with new technologies and share knowledge.
