About the role
Frontier is seeking a Principal Game Designer to provide leadership and shape the creative direction of their games. This role involves driving the overall game vision, overseeing major feature areas, and mentoring a team of designers to deliver high-quality player experiences.
Responsibilities
- Taking ownership of design for major feature areas or leading design across an entire project.
- Working with the Game Director to deliver on the game vision.
- Providing line-management for design team members and developing their careers.
- Managing project risks and identifying blockers and inefficiencies.
- Driving quality using playtests, player feedback, QA reporting, and personal insights.
- Designing game features, creating in-game content, and balancing game systems.
- Collaborating with other development disciplines to build understanding and alignment.
- Managing game design documentation and communication across the team.
- Working with Production to ensure effective feature prioritisation and work scheduling.
