Machine Learning Engineer - Inference Maintainer & Developer Experience

About the role

This role serves as the steward for Roboflow's flagship open source and commercial computer vision inference engine. The engineer will build and evolve an agentic-driven contribution and release pipeline to automate testing and CI/CD, enabling a transition from weekly to daily releases. Additionally, the role involves acting as a public-facing expert for the project, teaching internal teams and customers, and streamlining the integration of new models into the engine.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the inference engine to ensure health and quality as contribution volume scales.
• Develop an agentic-driven contribution pipeline for automated review, triage, and CI/CD.
• Design and grow a world-grounded test suite to validate build health across all targets.
• Define and enforce review standards for contributors and AI agents.
• Streamline the process of adding new computer vision and ML models to the engine.
• Enable internal teams and customers through documentation, demos, and technical support.
• Contribute to and grow the broader open source community around the project.
