About the role
The Senior Electronics Engineer will join the Reliability Engineering team to identify, root-cause, and resolve electronics and control hardware issues on operational trapped-ion quantum computers. This role involves owning the full lifecycle of electrical reliability fixes, from initial bottleneck identification to standardizing solutions across the fleet to improve system uptime and performance.
Responsibilities
- Triage and root-cause electrical, control-system, and drive-electronics issues on live systems.
- Design, prototype, build, and test electrical fixes including schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Lead electrical workstreams for fleet-wide upgrades such as control-hardware consolidation and remote telemetry.
- Coordinate with Operations and Science teams to deploy and retrofit upgrades onto live systems.
- Document validated fixes into engineering manifests and the Engineering Change Request process.
