Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building robust, AI-powered backend services and infrastructure that drive value for customers. You will own the end-to-end delivery of new features, collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring AI research into production, and uphold high standards for code quality and architecture. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who values clear thinking and is energized by turning AI research into practical, everyday products.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end delivery of new features and improvements across the stack
• Write client-side and server-side code within established codebases
• Analyze and communicate trade-offs in technical designs through RFC-style discussions
• Partner with AI engineers to bring research and prototypes into production-ready features
• Set and uphold high standards for code quality, architecture, and best practices
• Design and maintain robust automated tests to ensure reliability and quality at scale
• Develop and improve instructions, guardrails, and feedback mechanisms for coding agents
• Share expertise through code reviews, mentoring, and documentation
