AI Safety Manager

About the role

Slingshot AI is seeking a leader to shape trust and safety for Ash, an AI designed for mental health. You will work with psychologists, researchers, and engineers to develop policies, investigate risks, and implement operational processes in a sensitive domain. This role combines strategy, hands-on operations, and communication to ensure the product remains safe, private, and effective.

Responsibilities

• Develop principles and policies regarding safety, privacy, and user autonomy.
• Investigate user reports and emerging risks to establish clear decision-making processes.
• Build and manage operational processes for triage, investigation, and escalation.
• Collaborate with engineering, clinical, and legal teams to translate findings into product improvements.
• Produce clear internal and external documentation, including public explanations of the safety approach.
• Represent the company's safety strategy to partners and external audiences.
