Consultant / Senior Consultant, VAT, Tax Advisory and Compliance

About the role

Teneo is seeking a VAT specialist at the assistant manager or manager level to join their restructuring tax team. This role involves providing tax advice on the restructuring of financially distressed businesses, including insolvency processes and complex M&A transactions. The position offers a mix of advisory and compliance work across a broad spectrum of business sectors.

Responsibilities

• Advising insolvency practitioners on the VAT consequences of their actions during insolvency processes.
• Advising companies, lenders and stakeholders on the VAT implications of restructuring processes including share, property and business disposals.
• Liaising with HMRC on technical and compliance queries for insolvency appointments.
• Responding to day-to-day VAT queries from internal restructuring business units.
• Preparing VAT reports and advising on the submission of returns or other documentation to tax authorities.
• Supporting the business development activities of the team.
• Contributing to the technical development of the wider restructuring business through training design and delivery.
• Working collaboratively with the wider restructuring and tax teams to enhance processes and controls.
