Staff Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Almedia is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to design, build, and ship production-grade systems for ranking, personalisation, and reward structures. You will work within a small, high-ownership team to influence infrastructure and develop systems that balance user value with business sustainability. The role involves end-to-end ownership of behavioural prediction, measurement frameworks, and ML infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time ranking and personalisation systems.
• Develop reward and payout infrastructure that balances user motivation and business value.
• Build behavioural prediction models using time-series and sequence systems.
• Implement measurement and validation frameworks using A/B testing, causal inference, and uplift modelling.
• Manage ML infrastructure including pipelines, training loops, serving, and monitoring.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team regarding shipping discipline and impact.
