Software Engineer - Yocto/Linux

About the role

Spire is seeking an experienced Embedded Linux/Software Engineer to join the Platform team responsible for spacecraft systems. The role involves developing software for satellite systems, contributing to the enhancement of space-based data collection capabilities within a fast-paced, commercial nanosatellite environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop daemons that interface with embedded systems using low-level and higher-level protocols
• Implement communication interfaces between embedded systems and higher-level processes
• Integrate C libraries for specific hardware interfaces
• Contribute to the design and implementation of fault-tolerant systems
• Collaborate with the Electrical Engineering team for optimal software-hardware integration
• Maintain and develop designs using Yocto for Xilinx MPSoC and other systems
