Senior Backend Engineer - Mobility

About the role

M-KOPA is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help scale its e-mobility business, which provides clean and affordable transport solutions across Africa. You will build event-driven microservices that power a platform currently financing thousands of electric motorbikes. This role is an initial 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential for extension or transition into a permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Build sophisticated event-driven microservices with real-world impact
• Own solutions end-to-end from architecture decisions to production monitoring
• Collaborate with team members to coach and contribute to high-quality output
• Implement infrastructure as code and DevOps practices
• Maintain automated testing across all environments including production
