About the role

The Data Engineer will be a technical authority accountable for the design and development of technologies that underpin the company's data strategy. You will work within a DevOps culture to build, optimise, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks and Azure SQL Server. The role involves collaborating with business stakeholders and the Data Architect to deliver solutions that address real operational challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Build, optimise, and maintain data pipelines using PySpark.
  • Orchestrate data feeds from source systems through to the group data platform.
  • Collaborate with the Data Architect to shape the overarching data management strategy.
  • Engage with SMEs to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Act as a key interface between IT and business functions such as Finance and Marketing.
  • Ensure secure development practices and address non-functional requirements like scalability and performance.
