About the role
Gravis Robotics is a high-growth Series A start-up bringing Physical AI to the construction industry by turning heavy machinery into autonomous robots. As a senior engineer focused on the embedded platform, you will own the software layer closest to the hardware, including the bootloader, kernel, device tree, and root filesystem. You will work at the intersection of hardware, firmware, autonomy, and perception teams to bring up new boards and ensure the platform is robust and reliable.
Responsibilities
- Own the embedded Linux platform from end to end: bootloader, kernel, device tree and rootfs.
- Bring up new hardware alongside electrical engineers.
- Take our boards from first power-up to a boot you’d trust on a customer site.
- Write and maintain the kernel drivers that connect the Rack’s sensors to the autonomy stack
- Be the low level link between hardware and software teams; the person who can tell a driver bug from a hardware fault.
- Drive our OTA update and recovery strategy for machines around the world
- Implement security hardening: secure boot, disk encryption, container isolation, vulnerability patching.
