Flight Test Engineer

About the role

Alta Ares is seeking a Flight Test Engineer to lead flight test campaigns for high-performance unmanned aerial systems. The role involves planning and executing tests, analyzing flight data, and ensuring safety and qualification standards are met. You will collaborate across engineering teams to drive design iterations and support customer demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and lead flight test campaigns for unmanned aerial systems
• Write test plans, test cards, risk assessments, and safety cases
• Act as test conductor on the range and make go/no-go decisions
• Coordinate with range authorities and airspace regulators for test approvals
• Define instrumentation requirements and analyze flight data to assess performance
• Produce test reports and lead root-cause investigations
• Build tools to automate post-flight analysis and maintain a test database
• Manage flight safety processes and incident reporting
